It’s also a key component to building quick bonds with women, and pulling off same night lays.

On the other hand, when you’re not able to make an original impression, she’s going to involuntarily lump you in with the last 37 chumps who tried to buy her a drink — and within three minutes of you paying for her $12 cocktail, she’ll be excusing herself to “go find her friend.”

(By the way, isn’t it lame when women tell you that? As if her friend is lost somewhere in the nightclub, in dire need of food and water…)

Or, you might wind up spending all night talking to her, but you’re not building any sexual tension and so at best, you’ll get a worthless phone number. Getting a Same Night Lay will be out of the question.

The key to forming a link with her is to engage her attention and prompt her to share details about herself. Then you’ll tell her how much you relate to what she is talking about, and create rapport with her.

One of my favorite conversational methods for accomplishing this is using Cold Reads.

This technique, which is used to huge effect by psychics and palm readers, makes it seem like you have psychic powers and are “reading” the other person. (It’s also a great technique if you don’t want to waste too much time with small talk, and go for Same Night Lays instead.)

The trick with Cold Reads is that the “observations” you’re making apply to practically anyone. Yet there are psychological reasons why they are so effective, particularly with women.

One reason is that human beings are self-centered, and we normally accept claims about ourselves that point toward how we wish to be.

Another reason is that people are basically vain, and we all want people to think that we’re unique. Even though Cold Reads are usually imprecise generalizations — which would apply to your Uncle John, just as they would to the cute girl you start talking to at the bar — as humans, we want to agree with the person who skillfully “reads” us, and we’ll believe they have unusual powers of perception.

So forget about asking the generic “job interview” questions. (“So what’s your name,” “where are you from,” etc.) When I’m in a bar or a nightclub, talking to a girl and wanting to make a quick connection with her, I’ll use a Cold Read:

“Y’know, Lisa, I get the sense that a lot of guys get the wrong idea when they first meet you. They think you’re stand-offish and a bit cold. But you’re truly a lot more sensitive, and funny, than people realize.”

Here’s one other Cold Read I might use: “I get the sense it takes you a while to have faith in people, because you’ve been hurt before by someone who you really trusted. But the people that do earn your trust, you would do anything for them.”

Or, “I can tell that you’re someone who usually plays it safe and doesn’t take chances, but sometimes you’ve regretted it because you missed out an opportunity. But then other times, you’re spontaneous and adventurous, and you do take chances…and that’s when you’ve had some of the greatest experiences of your life.”

If she agrees with one of my “reads” — and honestly, I’ve never had a woman flat-out oppose what I said — I’ll follow up by telling her that I can totally understand her, because I’m the same way.

This builds a bond between me and her. In order to solidify the bond, I’ll tell a quick story — one that shows how I’m the same type of person.

(If you’ve got five Cold Reads ready to use, you should also have five short stories to illustrate how you personify those same qualities.)

A similar device is using “Barnum statements,” named after the circus showman P.T. Barnum. These statements apply to just about anybody, but give her the idea that you’re tapping into her inner psyche.

My favorite is, “I can tell something has been weighing on your mind. You’re on the verge of making an important decision in your life, aren’t you.”

Pretty much all of us, at any given time,are contemplating a big decision (or one that is considerable to us, at least). Nonetheless, she’ll be very impressed that you “knew” that about her.

She’ll then probably give you more details — and now you’re engaged in a meaningful, genuine interaction instead of wasting time with generic chit-chat.

A great deal of what a cold reader does is simply repeat back what the subject has said, as if the cold reader already knew the answer. If the girl you’re talking to agrees that she’s on the verge of making an important decision, nod wisely and say, “Yes, that’s right, and you’re really having a hard time with it.” Act like you knew this all along!

Here are other Cold Reads that are fuzzy yet “profound”:

“You have a deep need for others to like and admire you, but you also have a tendency to be critical of yourself.”

“You’ve got a secret talent, or a passion, that most people aren’t aware of, and you want to pursue it- but something is holding you back.”

“At times, you’re really social and outgoing. But other times, you’re shy and reclusive.”

Now that you understand the idea behind Cold Reads, you can devise your own. Based on her energy, the way she’s dressed, and how she acts during the first few minutes of the exchange, you should be able to apply a “read” that applies to her. This past week I pulled off Same Night Lays with two pretty hot chicks. I used a new Mack Tactic that I want to share with you right now:

OK, so you are arranging to take a girl out on a date.

Tell her to MEET YOU outside your place, so that you can ride in your car together and bring her to the date location.

(Bar, restaurant, coffee shop, whatever.)

Women ALWAYS agree to this. Because A), they are curious about where you live. They are nosy! They want to check out the exterior of your home/apartment/condo.

And B), they feel more comfortable riding in your car with you, especially if the date location is a place they are not familiar with.

OK, so  here is how to get girls into bed using this technique…

When her car pulls up to your place, go outside — like you’re ready to go on the date — and then tell her you forgot to do something. You need to go back inside and send an email or make a phone call:

“Hey! How are you…oh, I just remembered, I need to send an email (or make a phone call) before we go. Come inside for a minute.”

She will agree to this. Naturally, she is curious to see the INTERIOR of where you live.

So, bring her inside …

Give her a glass of wine, or some water, and then you go into the other room and pretend to handle your phone call or email.

The idea is this: you are letting her GET FAMILIAR with your place. This will no longer be an “unknown environment” to her.

While you spend 5 or 10 minutes in the other room, you are leaving her alone to CHECK OUT your pad.

This means you MUST have a clean place. Your bathroom must be absolutely spotless, because she will probably want to use it. (Scented candles and very plush bath towels will make the right impression on her.)

So, after 5 or 10 minutes, you finish up your “business” and you come back into the living room and rejoin her. Now the two of you get in your car and go on your date.

What you just did with her is HUGE.

Because, at the end of the date, when you suggest going back to your place — to have a glass of wine, watch a movie, or whatever other Tactic you use — she ALREADY KNOWS your environment.

So why does it help to show a girl your place before the date, so that you can bring her back there later?

Because women fear the unknown.

Until they’ve actually been in your environment, they’re going to think of reasons not to go there with you, such as…

“What if his place is filthy?”

“What if he has some weirdo roommate?”

Or worst of all, they think –

“What if he has a live-in girlfriend, or a WIFE, who’s going to show up and make some huge drama…”

Yes, girls actually THINK about these scenarios when you invite them home!! But by using the Tactic I explained above, you will put ALL of their concerns at ease.

They already KNOW that your home is a cool place to go back to, and chill out.

They already know what your place is like. It’s clean, comfortable, and you’re not going to try to jump on top of her the moment she comes in the door. She has observed you in your environment. You are a gentleman and a busy guy who has things to attend to.

This tactic worked for me twice this week! Use it and enjoy…

Any pickup artist who’s got solid game understands the importance of Same Night Lays.
